Union Pacific unveiled UP No. 1943, the Spirit, on October 19, 2017. I coordinated the unveiling ceremony in San Antonio, Texas, that included appearances and remarks by a number of local elected officials and officers from multiple military branches. Following the ceremony, I led the locomotive on a three state tour with promotional stops that included governors, state officials, veterans and active duty military members. Media were present at a number of appearances, including in San Antonio, New Orleans and Little Rock.




In 2008, in order to promote first time home ownership, I devised the first Homeownership Fair for the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency. We invited the public to visit with vendors to be in control and ask questions about the home buying process, before they found themselves in the stress of the actual transaction. Experts and government officials also offered presentations on various aspects of budgeting, home lending and purchasing. The first event drew 700 attendees over the course of the 4-hour event. Subsequent years saw the event grow to multiple locations across the state, with dozens of vendors participating and several hundred prospective home buyers educating themselves.
